Knowledge Base: Wall Printer Consumables & Maintenance Parts

To maintain the high-resolution output of a DXonJet wall printer, understanding your consumables is essential. Consumables are divided into two categories: Direct Printing Materials (ink) and Wearable Hardware (parts that require periodic replacement).

Direct Consumables: The Lifeblood of Your Printer

UV-Curable Ink (CMYKW)

The most used consumable. Our specialized UV inks are formulated for vertical adhesion and instant curing.

  • Capacity: Typically sold in 250ml or 500ml bottles.

  • Average Coverage: 1 liter of ink can print approximately 60–100 square meters, depending on image density and the use of white ink.

  • Pro Tip: Always keep a "safety stock" of White ink, as it is used more frequently when printing on dark or non-porous surfaces.

Cleaning Solution (Flush)

A chemical solvent specifically designed to dissolve UV ink without damaging the delicate membranes of the printhead.

  • Use Case: Used during manual cleanings, long-term storage preparation, and system flushes.

  • Warning: Never use water or generic alcohol; only use the manufacturer-recommended solution to avoid permanent hardware failure.

Wearable Hardware (Maintenance Parts)

To ensure the printer operates at peak precision, certain parts must be replaced as part of a preventative maintenance schedule.

A. Printhead (DoD)

The most critical part of the machine. While not a "daily" consumable, it has a finite lifespan based on the number of "shots" fired.

  • Expected Life: 12–24 months with proper maintenance.

  • Maintenance: Daily nozzle checks and proper "Travel Mode" settings will extend this significantly.

B. Ink Dampers

These filter the ink and regulate pressure just before it enters the printhead.

  • Replacement Cycle: Every 6–12 months.

  • Why? The internal mesh can become clogged with micro-pigments, leading to ink starvation.

C. Ink Tubes & Connectors

Over time, UV ink can cause plastic tubes to become less flexible or develop internal buildup.

  • Replacement Cycle: Every 12–24 months.

D. Wipers & Cap Stations

These components physically clean the printhead surface.

  • Replacement Cycle: Every 6 months.

  • Why? Worn wipers can streak ink across the nozzle plate or scratch the delicate head surface.
