How To Operate The Wall Printer Step By Step
September 21, 2023My name is Alex Wang, the sales director and co-founder of DXonJet Wall Printer Company. In this article, I will address two questions, How to maintain a UV wall printer, and how often to print? In other words: how much ink is wasted by a UV wall printer in cleaning or maintenance?

The Reality of Wasting Ink to Maintain the Print Head
When we are using a vertical UV printer, we usually need to do two tasks, printing and maintaining the printer.
Inkjet UV wall printers are actually very complex, especially in how they accurately lay down different ink droplets onto substrates to form an image. This is all about engineering.
Of course, printers need maintenance, just like you maintain a car engine. Some customers ask if there is a way to save ink to maintain the print head, and of course, we also hope to have such a method. However, based on current print head design technology, this is not achievable.
This is the reality, and we must do this to keep the printer running in good condition.
Wasting Ink Is Part Cost of Printing
The ink wasted to maintain the operation of the printer is also part of the cost you pay for printing images. So, the more images you print, the lower the cost relative to it. Because maintaining the printer is a fixed task, wasting ink to maintain the printer is also necessary.
How Often Should Use A UV Wall Printer?
If you use the printer 4 or 5 days a week, you don't need to maintain it as the print head will remain in good condition.
However, if you only use it once a month, you need to be careful as the print head can dry out and clogged. Clogged print heads are usually difficult to repair, and you may need to purchase a replacement to get it working again.
Printing Test to Check The Condition of The Printhead
I suggest you perform a print head test at least once a week, which is usually available in the printer's control software. With this feature, you can check the status of the print head. If the print head is not in good condition, I recommend performing a print head maintenance process.
Travel Mode Program to Automatically Maintain The Wall Printer
If you need to travel and are concerned about ink drying and causing damage to the printer, I suggest keeping the printer in standby mode and enabling the automatic maintenance cleaning mode. This way, the printer will automatically perform cleaning maintenance every few days.
Climate Condition Effects
In addition, climate conditions in different regions can also affect the maintenance cycle of the printhead.
For example, in hot or cold climates, it is necessary to pay more attention to the condition of the printer, because the ink will quickly dry or settle.
This does not mean that long periods of non-use or lack of maintenance will cause damage to the printer, but rather to ensure that the printer can maintain its optimal condition and print reliably.
How Much Ink is Wasted in Cleaning or Maintenance?
Usually, we need to clear the internal channels of the print head through 1-2 ink pumping processes. In this case, the amount of ink consumed is about 10 milliliters.
If the condition of your print head is still not good, you will need to perform multiple ink pumping processes and extend the ink pumping process, then the ink consumption will be 20-30 milliliters.
